Why the Reference Exists
Richmond County resident evidence is spread among separate custodians. Augusta Maps links owners with parcels. The Clerk of Superior Court and GSCCCA handle deeds, liens, and plats. The Board of Elections administers voter records, while the Georgia Heritage Room preserves Augusta directories beginning in 1841. We organize those search routes, office contacts, known coverage limits, and access rules so a reader can choose the right source for a current name, an address, or family history. The separation matters because Augusta’s general open-records portal cannot provide court, probate, deed, or vital files.
What You Will Find Here
- Pages by angle: the street directory (address-keyed records), the city directory (the historical shelf), and the resident lookup (one-person searches)
- The rolls and offices: Augusta Maps, the Superior Court Clerk, Board of Elections, vital-record custodians, and the Georgia Heritage Room
- Walkthroughs: how to trace who lives on a street, how to read a directory entry, how to follow a household across the decades
- Access rules: what Georgia law opens, what remains protected, and how to route a request when no online index answers it
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. It has no connection to Augusta-Richmond County government, any Georgia agency, court, library, or records custodian. Those boundaries mean:
- We cannot confirm whether a specific person currently lives in Richmond County
- We cannot pull, certify, or change any record on your behalf
- We cannot add anyone to, or remove anyone from, any roll or database
- We cannot give legal advice about a record or a dispute
- We cannot promise that every coverage year, link, or office detail here is current at this moment
Only the custodian office can confirm, certify, or correct a record. Nothing found through this site may be used for credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions.
